A woman is being operated on for removing cancer from her breast. But as we all know, cancer is very good & clever fighting back. Jennifer Clary, the director of this five-minute short film, keeps it simple. The stylish camera angles (especially ones on top of the woman and the close-up shots), effective editing and the sound effects add the important atmosphere to this short piece, but then there are the clay animations by Clary and Kevin Haberer this film probably will be remembered of. Yes, the villain of the film is made with stop-motion clay animation! The animation is fun & clever although not ground-breaking or innovative. Still, it supports the theme of the film perfectly and the combination of these all elements is very unique, which makes this five-minuter a winner. The whole professional look of the film differs this one from many others. Clary & her crew know what they do - the confidence of their filmmaking is easily noticeable. Clary and Haberer are the owners of Jenkev Productions,a media company which provides production support to GE Healthcare, to name one, but also release and produce other short films and feature films. |
