USA 2010

The idea of documentary about "a time machine built using alien technology" sounds either ultimately stupid or ultimately interesting. For me, it was the latter. I was expecting  the far-out scenes with high entertainment value, but unluckily the realisation of this documentary is only for the hard-core UFO enthuasists.

The Alien Time Machine basically shows Karen Frandsen (of the Eerie Investigations group) interviewing author Terry Le Riche Walters, who tells throughoutly about his abduction and other experiences with aliens from constellation Orion. You should be very interested of the subject, since the presentation is dull – interview is done with one camera on tripod. The cutscenes of photographs, CGI animations and other footage won't help too much.

The moment everyone will be waiting for, is naturally the footage of the alien time machine. Yes, there is video camera footage of some machine... but whether you believe in it or not, this is mainly just a shots of some thing (or a object) inside a dim-lighted room, with some strange lights near the machine and unknown people talking about what this machine can do. The story behind the apparatus is much more interesting, if you have the patience to listen to Terry Le Riche Walters interviews. The story involves even Hewlett & Packard!

This film is definitely not the for the skeptics, since the interviewer believes what Terry Le Riche Walters says, and won’t question any of his stories. It’s fine by me, but the subject would have needed more interesting and critical approach to satisfy more than just a diehard enthusiasists . Now the documentary feels like two friends chatting on a home video, with a ambient soundtrack and few flashy computer animated scenes.
