Slaughter Disc

Slaughter DiscObsessed with porn movies, young man called Mike spends his time with hand creme and XXX DVD's. Then he makes an unfortunate mistake by ordering "Slaughter Disc" -DVD. When he receives it and starts to watch this weird film, he comes more and more obsessed with the dark, beautiful lady Andromeda Strange appearing it.

David Quitmeyer directed this microcinema effort, which mixes horror and hardcore sex - and succeeds in it, for the most of the time. The viewer will encounter unpleasant, violent and gory scenes, that come more and more disturbing when all the elements makes a non-typical cocktail. Although there are few quite common and typical faults of microcinema / amateur films - like static camera, which makes some scenes boring - Quitmeyer has managed to create an unique atmosphere to Slaughter Disc. The soundtrack gives some moody, eerie feeling to sinister imagery most of the time, except when some tunes sound too clean - cheap, even. A little more time for the mixing and mastering would''ve helped a lot. The script could have been more imaginative and personally I would've liked some subplots to the story. Nevertheless, the 90 minutes of Slaughter Disc isn't really a pain to watch. Or then again: when it comes to some particular scenes - it is.

Even though the lead actress Caroline Pierce is nonetheless sexy in her role as Andromeda, this isn't a XXX film for that most obvious reason to watch. When the blood runs out in hardcore scenes, it isn't the nicest things to see. Robert Williams as Mike, does not look much of a person that deserves sympathy - or how do you feel about non-stop wanker who doesn't give a sh*t about his girlfriend, daytime job or anything else? Anyway, Williams does his best portraying a big-time loser and manages to raise a smile to your face, before the slaughter begins.

Slaughter Disc DVD is a positive exception to most of the microcinema releases, with its interesting extra material. Looking behind the scenes and watching humorous outtakes is especially fun, when you know the fact that this partly a triple X film.
